Max was a gorgeous staffordshire bull terrier!! We got him from a lady that had earlier got him from a dogs home, he was 4 at the time!! He immediately fit into our lives!! He was an amazing dog and he was so clever, he understood everything that was said, he was there with us through good times and bad and was a part of our family!! Max was taken ill in December 2004 and when the vets had investigated it turned out that Max had a massive tumour on his heart and also his heart had swollen up 3 times its normal size! This devastated us as you can imagine, we just knew that our time was nearly up with him! We made Max or Maxie boy as we used to call him, as comfortable as possible but it got a bit too much, he was so tired and would be falling over all the time because his weight was too much for him, we could tell that he couldnt go on any longer! So the painful decision was made to put him out of his misery! So on 9th February 2005 myself and husband took him to be put to sleep, we stayed with him right to the very end, this was such a sad time but we knew he was finally at rest!! He was cremated at the pet crematorium, Rossendale where we visit very often!! We miss him and love him so much and there isnt a day goes by where we dont talk or think about him!! xxxx RIP our Maxie Boy!!!!!! xx

My furry friend is sick; something's terribly wrong
The vet checked him over; there's nothing he can do
I'm afraid soon I'll be sending him; home to You
Please take him back home; on the wings of a dove
Into Your loving arms; up in heaven above
Take him to a meadow; where he can play and run free
Under bright sunlight; among the green grass and trees
He's been a part of my life now; for so many years
I'll miss him so much; my eyes are filling with tears
Please give me the courage; to tell him good-bye
As I know He'll watch over me; through his loving eyes
I'll never forget him; I'll see him one day
Tell him we'll meet at the Bridge; then we'll go play
I'll cherish the memories; of the time we both had
they'll put a smile on my face; then I won't feel as bad

I Thought of You Today.
I woke early this morning, lifted the shade
to a sky overcast and gray.
No ray of sun to brighten my heart,
and I thought of you today.
The breezes of summer are no more
and have moved along on their way.
The crisp air of autumn has settled in,
and I thought of you today.
The crunch of the leaves under my feet,
I remembered how you loved to play,
chasing the leaves across the yard,
and I thought of you today.
As the daylight faded into dusk
and the shadows came to play,
I lit a candle and watched the flame dance,
and I thought of you today.
I crawled into bed, turned out the lamp
and glanced where you used to lay.
The tears came again, as they always do,
as I thought of you today.
